Ameriprise Financial Senior Accountant in Minneapolis, Minnesota
"Ameriprise Financial has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to jointhe team! This role supports accounting and controls for activity to the generalledger from the insurance and annuity administrative systems. In this role, youwill establish and implement controls and procedures, as well as provideaccounting systems support to business partners and Finance groups.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare daily journal feed validation and journal entry processingPrepare queries/reports for general ledger dataResearch, identify, and design system and/or process changes necessary to resolve exceptionsPartner with business and technology groups to resolve and escalate issuesSupport client recoveriesProvide accounting requirements for system improvements supporting transactional processingDesign test cases, perform user acceptance testing, and review test outputRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting or finance and/or equivalent experience with accounting theory and concepts3+ years of accounting experienceStrong accounting conceptual skillsStrong knowledge of ExcelSelf-motivatedAbility to multitaskDemonstrated problem-solving and analytical skillPreferred QualificationsStrong curiosity about systems and systems designDemonstrated ability to communicate and work with all levels of management and support staffProven ability to influence without direct authority and to maintain strong working relationships with business partners.Workday General LedgerInsurance and Annuity Admin Systems experienceAnnuity/insurance accounting knowledgeInvestment accounting knowledgeExperience with data analytics tools such as AlteryxAbout Our CompanyWe're a diversified financial services leader with more than $1 trillion in assets under management and administration as of 2022. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
