This position is responsible for the planning, directing, coordinating, implementing, evaluating regulatory and auditing compliance, facilitating survey readiness and education needs throughout the Minnesota Veterans Home - Minneapolis facility. This position will work with in conjunction with and under the lead work direction of the Principal Infection Preventionist Registered Nurse, through implementing and maintaining the Infection Prevention/Control Program for applicable regulatory requirements and participating in agency committee, projects, education and trainings.

Minimum Qualifications

• Licensed in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions.

• Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse with Infection prevention and Quality Improvement.

• Knowledge of state and federal standards in skilled nursing facility/long term care, certification, and infection prevention.

• Communications skill sufficient to develop and deliver training/education and explain complex terms and concepts to a diverse audience.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification (online certifications/online classes not permitted)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Quality Assurance Performance Improvement strategies.

• CertificationinInfection Prevention, QAPI (Quality Assurance Performance Improvement), Gerontology,orotherrelatedfield such as Wound Certification, Nurse Executive Certification.

• Experience inClinical care needs of theelderly,thoseattheendoflife,andVeterans.

• Experience delivering health care education.

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Nursing.
