Job ID360720 LocationAll Other -See Job Description Job FamilyAcademic Full/Part TimePart-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code9313 Employee ClassAcad Prof and Admin About the Job The University of Minnesota Medical School Office of Medical Education (OME) is creating a new leadership role supporting the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the undergraduate medical curriculum on the CentraCare Regional Campus in St. Cloud. The Regional Campus Assistant Dean will be responsible for the overall conduct and supervision of the undergraduate medical education (UME) program on the CentraCare Regional Campus. This role will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with LCME accreditation standards, as well as all regional campus curriculum operations and administration. The candidate plays a pivotal role in aligning academic and operational processes within Medical School and has primary responsibility for the development, implementation, and evaluation of our integrative curriculum across UME. The candidate is expected to embrace and help operationalize the mission of the Medical School and CentraCare Regional Campus. Additional roles include: facilitating local student affairs needs in coordination with the Medical School's Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, local implementation of the curriculum in coordination with the Assistant Dean(s) for Curriculum, and local administration and oversight of student assessment and program evaluation in coordination with the Assistant Dean for Assessment and Evaluation. Facilitating local admissions processes with the Director of Admissions and Assistant Dean for Admissions. Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean for UME, Dr. Jeffrey Chipman, this role will work collaboratively to oversee St. Cloud's undergraduate medical education program. This position will also have ex officio membership on the Medical School Education Committee (MSEC), the Medical School Admissions Committee (MSAC), and the Medical School Scholastic Standing Committee (MSSSC). The candidate must have a faculty and department appointment within the Medical School. Duties/Responsibilities: Management: Matrixed supervision over St. Cloud Student Affairs advisors, Learner Development Specialist, and Curriculum Coordinator, and Admissions Director. Operational Leadership: Responsible for regional campus curriculum operations, administration, and real-time troubleshooting. Regular collaboration and coordination with the University of Minnesota Medical School Assistant Dean for Curriculum. Responsible for regional campus student affairs operations, administration, real-time troubleshooting. Regular collaboration and coordination with the University of Minnesota Medical School Assistant Dean for Student Affairs. Responsible for regional campus assessment and evaluation operations, administration, and real-time troubleshooting. Regular collaboration and coordination with the University of Minnesota Medical School Assistant Dean for Assessment and Evaluation. Executes local student assessment needs and ongoing programmatic improvement. Responsible for regional campus admissions operations, administration, real-time troubleshooting in collaboration with the University of Minnesota Medical School Admissions leadership. Qualifications Required Qualifications: MD or PhD with professional education experience Some medical school leadership experience (clerkship directing, course directing, education committee leadership, etc) Experience within a rural healthcare system Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Self-motivated and strategic thinker.
