Salary See Position Description Job Number 25DOCCR236TF015 Closing Date 2/26/2025 11:59 PM Central Description Hennepin County's Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCCR) is seeking to fill a Probation Officer position within the Adult Specialized Supervision Services Division. This Probation Officer position is in the Inter/Intrastate Medium-Low area. The Inter/Intrastate probation officer will provide supervision to individuals who transfer their probation supervision to Hennepin County from other Minnesota counties or other states. This position will work towards client change as well as victim and public safety through a combination of individual assessments, individualized case planning, and supervision strategies matched to client need and risk. Individuals who bring a variety of work and lived experience are strongly encouraged to apply. This position is open to different levels of experience/qualifications and could be hired into the Probation Officer (PO), Senior PO, or Career PO level. Salary based upon qualifications and duties: Probation/Parole Officer salary: $62,483.57 - $93,725.36 Annually Probation/Parole Officer, Senior salary: $68,888.14 - $103,332.21 Annually Probation/Parole Officer, Career salary: $75,949.18 - $113,923.76 Annually Location and hours: This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at Hennepin County Government Center, 300 South 6th Street Minneapolis, MN 55487 and remote as job duties require. Work hours are generally Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin. In this position, you will: Manage transfer investigation requests of clients from other Minnesota jurisdictions and/or other states, following transfer criteria set forth by state-wide intrastate policy and the interstate compact. Maintain contact standards, including field/home/treatment visits, while supporting clients in working towards positive change, promoting community safety and reducing the risk of recidivism. Follow protocol for accepting and denying cases, building rapport with agents in the sending county/state and maintaining contact with them regarding the client s progress and adjustment to probation supervision. Evaluate client risk and needs utilizing objective assessments and other screening instruments; interpret and assess the information to develop and adjust supervision and/or case plans and make referrals for treatment or programming based on client risks and needs. Utilize Evidence Based practices to promote behavioral change and public safety including, actuarial assessments, cognitive behavioral interventions, motivational interviewing, case planning etc. Provide tools and treatment through an ongoing collaborative, person-centered, and strength-based relationship with the client to help build a support system. Maintain documentation of a wide variety of case activitie including, but not limited to, contact with clients, victims, concerned parties, and treatment agencies within DOCCR s case management system and other department data systems.
