As a Nutrition Program Consultant for the Minnesota Department of Education, you will provide lead responsibility for ensuring implementation of USDA Federal Community Nutrition Programs including Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and other complementary initiatives, like Team Nutrition, Farm to Childcare and Farm to Summer. Duties include:
Conducting new sponsor approval visits, administrative review visits, completing reports, and delivering technical assistance and education workshops;
Ensuring compliance by determining sponsor, site and participant eligibility and compliance with regulations; and
Designing and implementing desk and on-site administrative reviews for participating organizations statewide, or as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
4 years of professional experience with nutrition projects, nutrition programs, or compliance monitoring
OR
A bachelor's or master's degree and 3 years professional experience with nutrition projects, nutrition programs, or compliance monitoring.
Work experience must include use of the following skills:
Critical thinking, problem solving, assessment of compliance, consulting or educating, and preparation of written reports.
Organization skills including use of technology tools to manage multiple work projects and data.
Public speaking or providing training to groups of adults.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with compliance assessment, menu review for nutrition standards, special diets, quantity foodservice management.
Experience managing multiple projects.
Experience with public speaking.
Experience with virtual platforms for training and communication.
Experience with competitive procurement.
Experience analyzing data including financial reports.
Experience with use of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheets.
