Bio-Techne Manufacturing Lab Assistant in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Position Summary:

Bio-Techne manufactures high quality antibodies, reagents and immunoassays that allow researchers to perform studies on a variety of different diseases that are critical for drug discoveries and clinical studies. As a Manufacturing Lab Assistant, you will act as a key support person in multiple labs leading preparation, processing, and/or finishing of materials for the use in manufacturing products. This position is responsible supporting manufacturing processes in Antibody Purification and Conjugation teams to ensure quick product turnaround and customer satisfaction. This is a non-exempt position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform filtering and aliquoting of conjugated and unconjugated antibodies inside a Laminar Hood

  • Perform labelling of vials and prepare paperwork for inventory transfer

  • Perform cleaning of lab space and maintaining lab equipment

  • Prepare spin columns for conjugate manufacturing

  • Support duties such as processing sera and eggs for antibody production

  • Purify rabbit antibodies and conduct in-process testing

  • Submit labware for cleaning and sterilization

  • Track and maintain inventory of assay components and clean labware

  • Prepare buffers and diluent as needed for manufacturing or research purposes

  • Scan, organize, and file batch records

  • Order lab supplies and components

  • General lab duties (recycling, in house supply acquisition, etc.)

  • Work closely with individuals within your lab and individuals cross-functionally as needed

  • Follow guidelines and comply with all company safety, quality, and training procedures and regulations

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma/GED, AA degree in biological sciences preferred with a minimum of 1 to 2 years of laboratory experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required

  • Ability to independently prioritize tasks on a regular basis

  • Sterile techniques

  • Pipetting skills

  • Must demonstrate flexibility and a high aptitude of multitasking in order to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment

  • Ability to follow complex work instructions and priorities as assigned

  • Capacity to work independently on routine assignments or projects and work with a team

  • Ability to handle repetitive tasks

  • Exhibit strong communication skills both verbally and in writing

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
