Job Description

Our Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within the airport facilities. This role involves working on a variety of electrical components, including lighting systems, power distribution, and control systems, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. You must adhere to all electrical codes and safety standards, troubleshoot electrical issues, and perform regular inspections and maintenance tasks. Additionally, you may be involved in upgrading electrical systems and providing technical advice and support for electrical projects.

WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK AS A JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN

· Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures

· Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes and safety regulations

· Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem

· Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards and the need for adjustment, repair, or replacement

· Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes

· Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures

· Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics

· You have a great attention to detail

· You enjoy working with a team or individually to accomplish your tasks

· Like to build long term relationships with your customers

· Physical activity may include:

· Stand and walk for extended periods of time

· Ability to lift 70 pounds or more

· Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environment

· Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)

Qualifications

· Minimum age of 18 years old

· Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents

· Valid Journeyman Electrician license

· Proven experience as a journeyman electrician, with a strong background in industrial or commercial electrical systems

· Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety practices

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams

· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

· Good communication and teamwork abilities

· Physical fitness to perform manual tasks and work in various environments

· Comfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and tablets

· Ability to pass a drug screen

· Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
