Principle Duties 10% Communication: Work with investigators, research personnel, and other stakeholders to promote informatics services. Promote available CTSI Informatics services to investigators and research staff. Assist with strengthening the collaboration between BPIC and other CTSI cores. Coordinate user evaluation of offered services and capture needs for potential future enhancements. Partner with the CTSI Communications team to provide content related to informatics support services and impact. Host periodic webinars, conduct end user training sessions. 60% Informatics Services Support: Operate as an Honest Broker, serve as point person for research network and CTSI Hub Partner requests, and oversee department email account. Adhere to role responsibilities as an honest broker, such as ensuring that all informatics activities meet various compliance standards (IRB, HIPAA, data security, and contractual obligations of the University of Minnesota, etc.). Oversee the department's email account; respond to inquiries, give guidance related to informatics services, assist users with questions, and triage needs accordingly. Generate feasibility assessments for local data, as well as research networks (TIN, ACT, i2b2, TriNetX). Act as point person for incoming requests related to research networks and CTSI Hub Partners. Follow standard operating procedures and adhere to team policies and best practices. Strive for a high-quality client experience and excellent user satisfaction. Discuss and provide feedback related to opportunities for enhancement with team management. 30% Collaboration and Continuous Improvement: Optimize operational effectiveness using data-driven insights, collaborate on process improvement efforts. Assist with establishing and maintaining collaborative partnerships; ensure effective relationships with external departments receiving dedicated informatics support. Participate in process improvement activities, including metrics collection and reporting. Monitor the effectiveness of implemented process improvements, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions to improve internal processes and workflows. Act as a liaison with CRSC functional groups. Ensure progress, delays, and/or issues are regularly communicated with team management. Collaborate with IT teams, healthcare researchers, administrators, and other stakeholders to align process improvement efforts with organizational goals and priorities. Engage with collaborative initiatives that strengthen diversity, equity, & inclusion across CTSI. Work location: Hybrid with onsite location on the Twin Cities campus in Minneapolis, MN. Salary Range: $82,500 - 92,500, commensurate with experience. Qualifications All required qualifications must be documented on application materials. Required Qualifications BA/BS and 6+ years of relevant research or quantitative work experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience in areas directly related to the position. Experience must include a minimum of three years of experience in healthcare research. Knowledge of healthcare data management concepts and regulatory/compliance policies (HIPAA, IRB, etc.). Experience working independently in a rapidly changing scientific environment. Ability to triage requests, connect research experts, and carry out the duties of an honest broker. Superior human relation skills, such as, the ability to use positive language communications to serve and influence our customers and stakeholders. Ability to participat in occasional domestic travel to attend conferences or training workshops. Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize assignments and work under limited supervision. Comfortable providing rapid and timely response to urgent requests. Preferred Qualifications Prior reporting experience; including the ability to generate rapid feasibility assessments. Strong customer-facing experience, preferably with physicians, investigators, faculty/academic and research support staff. Experience with healthcare data reporting terminologies (e.g. ICD9/ICD10, CPT, LOINC). Experience with data visualization tools (Qlikview, Tableau). Exposure to project management tools (JIRA, SmartSheets). Comfortable following directions/instructions from supervisors and senior staff.
