The Corporate & Foundation Grants Officer reports to the Director of the Minneapolis College Advancement and Foundation and is responsible to manage a timely and efficient grants process from conducting prospect research, collecting outcome data, preparing and file grant reports as well as conducting donor stewardship to ensure future gifts from private institutional donors. Working across functions within the Foundation and Minneapolis College, this position collects program details and other data necessary to develop grant proposals, identifies prospective organizational donors (private foundations and businesses), writes and submits grant proposals, maintains records for grant management, and prepares final reports for institutional funders. This position will focus on generating five, six, and seven figure gifts from these institutions.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Oversee grant management processes and systems for existing donors, including renewals and follow-on funding requests.

  • Maintain data on institutional funders in Raisers Edge and Microsoft Teams including prospect list and activities calendar of events, proposal and report due dates, funder contacts, grant-related correspondence and proposals, and contact reports.

  • Work with identified faculty, staff, and administrators who must be involved in proposal approvals; involve them in developing grant proposal concept and details.

  • Work across the College to acquire program information and other data needed to develop compelling grant proposals that will fill a need at the College and help the Minneapolis College Foundation meet its fundraising goals.

  • Steward institutional donor relationships in meaningful ways that deepen engagement with and affinity for Minneapolis College and Foundation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., nonprofit management, business, marketing, communications, Liberal Arts)

  • Knowledge and experience in working with nonprofit/development roles with a successful track record in grant writing

  • Knowledge and experience in persuasive writing with excellent analytical skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with a critical focus on meeting deadlines

  • Experienced in budget preparation, analysis, and management of grants.

  • A confident communicator who is self-motivated with an ability to prioritize tasks, work with many personalities and work styles.

  • Ability to establish and sustain collaborative relationships with funders and colleagues.

  • Demonstrates an ongoing understanding of cultural fluency. Incorporates culturally responsive practices, and actively engages in antiracism professional development learning opportunities.
