Job Title: General Production Worker

Job Description

The role will be in the pet department where you will focus primarily on grinding, dicing, and working with raw and cooked meat each day. This position is considered a flex position, meaning the employee will provide support not just to the Pet platform but can also learn various operations for different business units to build a breadth of capabilities for future development.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate equipment, understand food safety requirements, and perform risk assessments.

  • Operate mixing and grinding equipment. Setup involves following COHE procedures and using hand tools and instructions to assemble the equipment.

  • Conduct basic analytical quality tests, including moisture content tests using NIR (Near-infrared spectroscopy) and temperature readings using a thermometer.

  • Demonstrate agility and the ability to flex across teams within a platform as work needs shift.

  • Perform equipment sanitation and basic equipment setup activities.

  • Utilize basic technical skills related to product, process, and/or packaging.

  • Consistently and repeatedly lift, manipulate, and transport ingredients or equipment, up to 55 lbs.

Essential Skills

  • Basic production experience, with a preference for food production experience.

  • Experience with food science/food quality and food GMPs.

  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with people from technical, production, and other backgrounds.

  • Strong knowledge in analytical instrumentation and data analysis.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks effectively.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient in PC skills such as Word and Excel.

  • Ability to work well with individuals and teams, displaying a positive attitude.

  • Excellent judgment and problem-solving ability.

  • Flexibility and adaptability.

Work Environment

The schedule is Monday to Friday, 6 AM - 2 PM. This role is 100% production and research-based with strong standard operating procedures. It offers a good environment to learn quality testing skills and explore research production opportunities. Please note that this position involves potential exposure to common allergens including but not limited to milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, and sesame.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
