HIRED Financial Wellness Coach in Minneapolis, Minnesota

POSITION SUMMARY The Financial Wellness Coach will develop and implement a grant-funded financial wellness pilot program focused on the goals & strengths of low income families served by HIRED metro wide, with a specific emphasis on meeting the needs of North Minneapolis families. This role will provide outreach and engagement to connect with people enrolled in Hired programs on financial wellness topics, help clarify and achieve financial goals and connect with broader community resources to augment project services. Competitive candidates will have demonstrated knowledge and experience in financial settings, the ability to provide effective and accurate coaching on financial issues in a culturally and economically responsive manner. The ability to work effectively and sensitivley to support the financial emancipation of historically excluded communities is required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Use collaborative process to build rapport and trust needed to engage others in financial learning and accomplishing goals set by those served in this project. In consultation with participant, develop reasonable, realistic & measurable short term and long-term goals Provide one-to-one coaching for participants, assisting with goal setting, budgeting, credit building, debt repayment, savings, utilization of financial services, and asset development Refer participant to internal and external resources, assist in coordinating resources. Consult with service providers inclusive of but not exclusive of providers in mental health, child protection, financial assistance, banking, advocacy, probation, education, housing Monitor participant progress toward financial goals, Prepare and present financial literacy classes and workshops to groups of participants Work with classroom instructors, employment counselors, and other staff members to provide integrated services to participants Identify and help participants to access other financial resources and services needed to achieve their goals Cultivate and maintain relationships with key financial and community partners Assist, as assigned, with special projects and attend trainings and workshops as deemed necessary to achieve overall goals and to operate a successful program Attend staff meetings and other meetings, as scheduled Collaborate with other employment service providers, businesses, community agencies and educational institutions on behalf of participants Maintain compliance with program contract requirements and program policies Maintain participant confidentiality, adhere to Federal Data Privacy laws Maintain case files and case file documentation inclusive of but not exclusive of the following (per program requirements): Proactively share knowledge, expertise and resources with other staff as it relates to financial counseling,
