Job Description:

Title: Certified Elevator Mechanic

Report To: Lift Manager

Job Description:

Through close attention to core values of Quality, Safety, and Integrity, the Certified Elevator Mechanic will manage Technician Assistants, timelines, and project completeness during all inspections, repair work, and new installations. The Mechanic is responsible for following and enforcing company employee/safety policies and completing daily reports and timesheets electronically. The Mechanic will interact directly with customers/suppliers and will always conduct themselves professionally and in all situations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Know and apply all relevant OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), customer safety policies, procedures, and practices.

  • Cut, weld, layout, read and comprehend prints.

  • Manage appropriate vehicle maintenance and care, as well as all tools assigned to that vehicle.

  • Communicate with Lift Manger and field employees.

  • Supervise and develop the trade skills of Technician Assistants.

  • Work overtime when needed and be willing to travel to where PMI contracts work.

  • Properly maintain PMI tools and safety equipment through daily inspections.

  • Complete appropriate paperwork and picture documentation.

  • Lead weekly safety training.

  • Set up and operate a variety of powered, hand-held drills, grinders, and saws, as well as appropriate non-powered hand tools required to perform tasks.

  • Perform load tests, state required inspections, new installations, and appropriate troubleshooting techniques according to current ASME and NEC standards.

  • Run/pull appropriately sized conduit/wire and terminate.

  • Climb and work at heights of 200 feet.

  • Complete all other duties as assigned.

  • Able to lift to 70 lbs. as well as handle, move, carry, push, pull, lift, and lower tools, materials, equipment, and structures, plus stand, bend, and squat continually throughout the workday.

Educational Qualifications Desired:

High School diploma or equivalent desired. Consistent with company values, the candidate must want to learn new processes and continue training in the given trade to develop skills.

Competencies and Experience Desired:

• Previous project management experience.

• OSHA 30 Hour-Construction.

• Ability/experience with effectively managing and developing people.

• Knowledge of current ASME standards.

• Knowledge of both new and old equipment from several manufacturers.

• Current Master/Journeyman Electrical Licensure in project states.

• Knowledge of all elevators electrical systems and the ability to read wiring schematics.

• The ability to crouch, kneel, and work with both arms above shoulder height for extended periods of time.
