Let's Redefine Possible SUMMARY To implement Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety program across multiple Solar project sites and ensure a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors and visitors to the construction work site for our Wind Operating group. THIS POSITION REQUIRES CANDIDATE TO HAVE SOLAR RENEWABLE EXPERIENCE. VISA Sponsorships are not offered for this position. RESPONSIBILITIES Implement and administer safety program at each worksite for team members Assist project management team in developing site specific safety program and activities Formulate, coordinate and conduct safety orientation and training programs Document and track all safety violations, unsafe conditions, etc. Conduct safety work area audits Conduct project's loss control data/document collection and trend analyses Assist with major incident analysis Record, monitor, and analyze Safety, Injury and Hazard statistics Lead OSHA reporting and posting requirements Monitor and review subcontractor activities for safety concerns Review Safety Submittals and attend preconstruction and preparatory meetings with subcontractors Lead Return to Work and Modified duty assignments Evaluate and offer solutions for industrial hygiene concerns Maintain operational knowledge of construction safety, OSHA, ANSI, and other applicable standards and procedures Serve as resource for safety issues or concerns for all project team members/management Attend and/or chair safety meetings Work with client safety personnel, union representatives, insurance risk engineers, etc. Accompany safety, health, insurance and OSHA personnel on work-site tours Ensure maintenance and inspection of safety equipment and protective wear Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels QUALIFICATIONS Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks Ability to work in Microsoft Office and pertinent safety related software programs Shown positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback Must travel 100% Solar experience highly preferred EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in field of safety, occupational health or equivalent Minimum of four years of construction safety experience If no Bachelor's degree, high school diploma, CHST Certification (BCSP certification preferred), OSHA 500 and minimum of 10 years of continuous construction experience leading crews and planning work, to include at least six years as a dedicated construction safety professional responsible for managing project safety programs, conducting / reviewing hazard analyses and developing controls, conducting safety training, and planning work activities or equivalent experience in a relevant field Current valid driver's license ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This position requires the following with or without an accommodation; sitting, walking, standing, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, hearing, visual acuity, and utilization of a computer and office equipment. This person must be physically capable of reviewing a jobsite multiple times daily. The working environments consist of exposure to dirt, heat, noise, dust, and outdoor weather; as well as indoor and climate-controlled settings.
