Salary $67,607.14 - $80,816.52 Annually Job Number 24TRNS268FM430 Closing Date 1/31/2025 11:59 PM Central Description Hennepin County Public Works is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to join the Design division within the Transportation Project Delivery department. This position will work as part of a team to deliver roadway reconstruction projects with opportunities for professional and technical growth through training and working with other experienced roadway design professionals. Location and hours: This position is hybrid and will be located at the Public Works Facility, 1600 Prairie Drive, Medina, MN 55340 and remote, as job duties require. There is no public transportation to this facility. Work hours are flexible between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must live in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin. In this position, you will: Prepare complete construction plans by applying roadway design criteria that include geometric layouts, develop typical sections, profiles, cross sections, while incorporating design standards, and specifications. Perform computer-aided roadway design and drafting functions. Compute, balance, and check roadway geometrics, contract and earthwork quantities and associated tabulations, and cost estimates. Coordinate design work with utility companies and other agencies to identify and mitigate conflicts with proposed work. Direct, train, and check the work of other technicians.
