The LT program area focuses on the study and application of technology-based and online environments in a wide variety of contexts, including formal (e.g., PreK-12, higher education, business) and informal/non-formal settings. This is a full-time (100% FTE), 12-month, non-tenure-track position. This is a one year temporary position, employment past one year will depend on job performance and available funding. The successful applicant will lead program and curriculum development, partnerships, outreach, mentorship, and community engagement to direct and advance the growth of all online learning efforts in Learning Technologies. In particular, they will coordinate and expand current and future online degrees, certificates, and other educational initiatives, such as micro-credentials. Current programs include a fully-online MEd and partially-online MA and PhD degrees; online graduate certificates in Learning Analytics, Online Distance Learning, and K-12 Technology Integration; and a fully online undergraduate minor with alternative pathways to a major. The role will collaborate with others in expanding this portfolio to include emerging areas of growth and need, such as, for example, Generative Artificial Intelligence in Education and Learning Futures. The successful applicant will directly consult and collaborate with the Learning Technologies community of program area faculty, instructors, and students. They will also consult more broadly with leadership and other units in CEHD, and engage in outreach with other colleges at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, and the UMN Office of Distributed Learning to serve the University of Minnesota (UMN) system and make online courses and academic programs in Learning Technologies accessible to all students across the UMN system and beyond. The successful applicant will innovate and lead efforts to position Learning Technologies and the University of Minnesota as a global provider for world-class, inclusive, and community-centric online education programming. The pay range for this position will be $52,000-$66,000. The University of Minnesota encourages a healthy work life balance for employees. Job Responsibilities Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Program Development, Partnerships, and Recruitment (60%) Develop robust, equitable, and inclusive online education programs in Learning Technologies through: Program Development Develop curriculum (for-credit, non-credit) in collaboration with LT faculty, department, college, and university groups Create, review, and/or revise Learning Technologies online education program policies, procedures, and practices with Learning Technologies faculty, department staff Consult on the creation of informational and marketing materials for Learning Technologies online programs Develop, revise, and maintain online program manuals and create new resources and materials as needed Use analytical and technical skills to evaluate and improve the effectiveness and growth of online programs in Learning Technologies, including analysis of student outcome data for program planning, decision-making, and improvement student, program, and disciplinary trends In collaboration with Academic Advis rs as well as department and college staff Conduct outreach efforts (e.g., online information sessions) to connect with and attract prospective students, including those from underrepresented and marginalized communities Manage all online program inquiries and help prospective students find the best fit for a LT program based on educational and career goals Collaborate with department and college communications staff to build awareness of the Learning Technologies online programs and develop branding and web marketing materials for these programs Manage the online presence of the Learning Technologies program to share information about LT online programs, highlight opportunities, and reach broader audiences in collaboration with the department and college teams Create strategies to engage prospective students through various communication channels Create and manage resources to assist prospective students in navigating the admissions process Community and Alumni Engagement Develop initiatives that enable current Learning Technologies' students to connect with alumni Develop and foster existing initiatives to cultivate community among Learning Technologies (LT) alumni (e.g., alumni advisory group, a mentorship program) Enhance communication lines to alumni to support alumni relations (e.g., LinkedIn) Work in partnership with university alumni office and college development officers Online Program Leadership and Student Engagement (30%) Act as the primary point of contact for all online programs in Learning Technologies Serve as online LT students' formal program advisor Lead onboarding of new students into the program(s) and lead information sessions for prospective and incoming students in collaboration with department Academic Advisors and Graduate Program Coordinator Lead efforts to foster a sense of community and connectedness amongst enrolled students (e.g., online student meetings and events, such as guest speakers and professional development workshops) Develop, track, and analyze program effectiveness and student outcomes for continuous improvement Keep current with developments in the fields of learning technologies, online teaching and learning, and distance education and continue professional development in these fields Supervise graduate assistants and assign tasks as needed Administration and Service (10%) Participate on hiring committees for faculty and instructors as needed Participate in LT program area meetings and events Serve as the LT program area coordinator at the departmental level as part of program area rotations Participate in relevant department, college, and university-level committees Qualifications Required Qualifications BA/BS degree and three years of related professional experience, or a related Master's degree with proven ability to perform the job.
