Located in south Minneapolis, we serve people of all ages and all income levels with compassion and care. CUHCC's mission is to transform care and education to advance health equity. CUHCC: Serves the medical care, dental care, mental health care and social service needs for nearly 10,000 patients Trains 170+ future health professionals to serve a culturally-ethnically diverse patient population Generates research to improve care at CUHCC and beyond As a Federally Qualified Health Center, we serve patients of all income levels, with and without insurance. We offer our services on a sliding fee scale to make them available to everyone. Educational programming and activities at CUHCC are an interprofessional effort involving health professional learners and faculty from University of Minnesota's six health sciences schools, other University programs, and select local colleges. This position reports to the CUHCC's Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer. This position is hybrid (max 2 days a week virtual; phased in after successful onboarding/training). This is subject to change based on clinic and department needs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Program Development and Planning: 50% Leads the development and management of educational programs and activities to forward CUHCC's strategic educational objectives in collaboration with a team of clinical directors and administrative leaders. Initiates and prepares analyses and recommendations on educational outcomes, curriculum, and overall educational program. Monitors and runs the program implementation and evaluation of work plan for education at CUHCC. Leads CUHCC's internal equity and diversity training and development, which may be in partnership with other community agencies or University departments. Leads development of curriculum, instructional materials and assessment tools in coordination with on-site and off-site faculty for clinical trainees coming to CUHCC. Teach classes, workshops, etc. and deliver training to clinical trainees, staff, community members and/or patients. Coordinate with various departments and faculty within the University to implement classes and training. Keep current on developments in the adult learner, health sciences, and interprofessional field to provide support to staff and clinical directors. Serves as an internal resource for faculty, staff, and students on strategic initiatives related to healthcare workforce education. Maintains and improves tools to assess learner outcomes before, during and after their structured learning experience at CUHCC Analyze, prepare, present and/or publish qualitative and quantitative learning outcomes. Lead online learning & communications for learners including staff, students and residents, by developing and managing content & reporting through Qualtrics, Google Sites, MailChimp, Canvas, or other applications approved by the University of Minnesota. Coordinate and implement interprofessional education regularly scheduled sessions (IPE RSS) for student learners and CUHCC staff on health care and relevant community topics. Program Administration 50% Lead weekly learner on-boarding meeting Keep updated department/school contact list. Manage the education workplan, which includes curriculum development, implementing the educational project timeline, training of preceptors and other activities. Develop learning materials and instructional sessions based on sound instructional design principles that foster adult learning. Leads the preceptor training program to assure that preceptors have solid foundation in key areas of practice and understanding. Manages the orientation process for preceptor and learners in coordination with supervisors to assure strong working knowledge of CUHCC and a foundation for effective precepting to support CUHCC's clinical training services. Ensures agreements are in place with various health science schools who are sending students and residents. In partnership with the development team, develops handouts and other marketing materials and/or signature educational events to explain the educational process, key priorities for CUHCC, and other learning objectives. Prepares dashboard metrics and reports concerning programmatic activity to educational partners. Acquires data vital to complete information necessary for administrative decisions. Makes recommendations on data collection and analysis needs. Compiles case histories and learner narratives. Collaborates with the Finance team and other leaders to review the financial, operational and compliance requirements needed to implement a successful clinical educational experience as needed. Acts as a liaison between appropriate external agencies and University personnel and students regarding learner rotations at CUHCC. Serves as a consultant to other staff members and campus agencies on external agency relations for assigned Education initiatives/programs. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Advanced degree in a relevant field such as public health or education, with at least 4 years of experience, or a BA/BS in relevant field and 6 years of related professional experience. Experience in coordinating educational programs including project management, evaluation and assessment, curriculum development and implementation. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Background in health sciences education and adult learning theories and modalities. Demonstrated experience in coordinating and/or administering Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training. Experience working in a complex, diverse workplace that serves many communities. Experience in a community health care and/or academic health setting. About the Department At CUHCC, we're transforming urban health care and educating the next generation of healthcare professionals. CUHCC offers a full range of dental and mental health services that are typically not offered at a community health center, such as prosthodontic services and psychiatry. CUHCC has pharmacists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, dentists, dental hygienists, nurses, family nurse practitioners, family practice physicians, internal medicine physicians, internal medicine-pediatric physicians, licensed social workers and psychologists among other disciplines on staff. CUHCC's interprofessional care model uses a collaborative, team-based approach to deliver education and patient care, integrating these services.
