ASSOCIATE MERCHANDISING MANAGER

ABOUT YOU:

This role demands a deep understanding of merchandising principles, market trends, and consumer behavior, as well as a collaborative spirit to work closely with sales channels, product development, UX, and marketing teams. YOU HAVE:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.

  • Experience: At least 3 years of prior experience in merchandising, with proven experience in eCommerce merchandising or a related field. A strong track record of driving sales growth and optimizing product assortment.

  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of eCommerce platforms, merchandising best practices, and digital marketing strategies. Proficiency in eCommerce analytics tools, SEO techniques, and data analysis.

  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Strategic and Creative Thinking: A creative thinker with a strategic mindset, analytical problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.

    YOU WILL:

  • Merchandising Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive eCommerce merchandising strategy for The Mascot Shop, aligning with business objectives, data insights, go-to-market (GTM) strategies, and current trends.

  • Core Product Merchandising Plan: Create, manage, and implement the merchandising plan in collaboration with the VP of Merchandising. Partner with Product Development, Sales, and UX/IT teams to ensure that the execution of GTM plans aligns with the company’s financial goals.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Product Development, Digital Marketing/Data, and UX/IT teams to ensure alignment and coordination of merchandising initiatives, product launches, and promotional campaigns.

  • Content Management: Work with creative teams to develop compelling product content, including descriptions, imagery, and multimedia assets, to optimize product presentation and enhance the online shopping experience.

  • Performance Analysis and Optimization: Utilize analytics tools and reporting metrics to monitor eCommerce performance, analyze product sales trends, and identify opportunities for optimization. Adjust merchandising strategies and tactics to maximize sales revenue and profitability.

  • Market Research and Competitive Analysis: Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and trend forecasting to identify emerging market opportunities, competitive threats, and consumer preferences, informing merchandising strategies and product assortment decisions.

  • Typical/expected % of overnight travel: <5%

    Our Product team drives the ideation and development of a product offering that supports our consumers; educators, parents and students alike, in celebrating their achievement with pride. The team is comprised of several product categories including jewelry, stationery, graduation regalia, apparel, and celebratory accessories. This highly collaborative group works directly with Marketing, Sales, Digital & Operations in business decision-making and strategy decisions to support product introductions.
