Robert Half Assistant Project Manager in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Description

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Assistant Project Manager to join our client’s construction team in Minneapolis, MN. This position will support various project management activities, from soliciting bids to handling project documentation. Ideal candidate is a proactive individual with a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solicit, collect, and review bids from vendors and subcontractors, and assist in the preparation of proposals.

  • Support project management activities including processing submittals, generating and managing purchase orders, and preparing closeout packages.

  • Attend site meetings and effectively document and communicate key information.

  • Utilize Zoom and Teams for virtual meetings and communications.

  • Pull permits at local municipalities and handle related documentation.

  • Coordinate and communicate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project milestones are met.

  • Monitor project schedules and budgets, and report on project progress to the project manager.

  • Assist in the resolution of any project-related issues or disputes.

  • Maintain project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and correspondence.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.

    Requirements

  • Previous experience in the construction industry or a related field is preferred.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically with Excel.

  • Experience with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam and Microsoft Project.

  • Strong typing skills and ability to navigate web pages efficiently.

  • Familiarity with bid solicitation, submittals process, and generating purchase orders.

  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
