The Social Work Counselor works with foster care children referred by the Department of Social Services to develop independent living skills

This is a great opportunity for a recent college graduate!

Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate independent living skills workshops

• Conduct monthly home visits to youth in their foster homes.

• Complete a Step Up Independent Living assessment and treatment plan in partnership with client, foster family and caseworker.

• Coordinate service efforts with DSS caseworkers.

• Complete and maintain client case records in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, education or related field required.

• One-year full-time experience working with adolescents.

• Valid and clean driver's license

• Basic computer knowledge of MS Office.

Additional Information

Schedule:

• Full-time, 35 hours per week.

• Schedule: Monday 12-8 pm, , Tuesday through Friday 9am-5pm.

• Location: Hempstead

• Salary: 42,000
