Social Work Counselor

Opportunity

We are seeking a Social Work Counselor for our Project Independence Program. Nassau Project Independence is a program located in Hempstead that works with foster youth to develop independent living skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate independent living skills workshops.

• Provide contacts and supports for foster families to facilitate implementation of independent living skills in the home.

• Coordinate service efforts with DSS caseworkers.

• Conduct monthly home visits to youth in their foster homes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, education or related field required.

• One-year full-time experience working with adolescents.

• Valid and clean driver's license

• Basic computer knowledge of MS Office.

Additional Information

Schedule:

• Full-time, 35 hours per week.

• Schedule: Monday 12-8 pm, , Tuesday through Friday 9am-5pm.

• Salary: $23.08/hr
