Job Overview

This is an onsite position located in Milwaukee, WI. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team at our New Komatsu South Harbor Operations in Milwaukee, WI. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of our mining shovels. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, assess supplier capabilities, and implement robust quality assurance processes throughout the supply chain.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain quality control systems to ensure products and processes meet Komatsu (KLTD) standards.

  • Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with ISO elements and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives for product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and sourcing teams to meet specifications and select quality suppliers.

  • Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Provide technical support for quality matters to internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Ensure SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Requests) are processed promptly by suppliers.

  • Support new program launches, quality risk assessments, and supplier quality during New Product Development (NPD).

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of Supplier Quality Engineering experience in manufacturing, including 3 years using APQP.

  • Certifications like CWI, MT, and PT are highly desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of quality control standards, ISO 9001, and tools such as SOLIDWORKS and Six Sigma.

  • Hands-on experience with commodities like fabrication weldments, heat treatment, and machining.

Travel Requirements

  • Travel to supplier site for critical product inspections and approvals

  • Travel up to 75% of the time, with some trips lasting more than a week.
