WWBIC Small Business Consultant - Statewide in MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Effectively carry out the Small Business Consultant team\'s activities to ensure that WWBIC\'s statewide one-on-one assistance is coordinated and delivered in a well-planned, timely and quality fashion. In conjunction with the Vice President Programs & Operations and Statewide Director of Lending, provide input into planning the work to accomplish the larger team goals including deliverables for each market. Manage the training and mentoring of WWBIC\'s Small Business Consultants. Supervise and coach small business consultants with positive influence to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization including hiring process, employee feedback/reviews, team coordination, training opportunities, access for employee questions/concerns, budgeting input, and HR documentation. Manage Small Business Consultants production and loan client assignments. Track Small Business Consultants workload and production. Coordinate systematic collection of clients\' financial statements in collaboration with loan operations. Assess client needs and provide direct business advice and guidance via one-on-one consultation or small group counseling to WWBIC clients, including new and existing loan clients. Monitor each client\'s progress and document outcomes. Effectively communicate client needs and observations with other team members, working in tandem to develop action plans needed to assist clients. Connect like clients to facilitate networking opportunities. Conduct business site visits. Promote and increase awareness of client businesses. Perform comprehensive review of business plan including marketing plan and financial goals. Provide comprehensive and ongoing review of financial statements and projections to determine if client is on track. Develop action plans to achieve goals and monitor client progress. Assist client in creating cash flow projections and assist in financial analysis to provide guidance and options in making purchase decisions. Work with the Director of Lending to assign loan clients to the Small Business Consultants portfolio. Collect, track, and enter client data in a timely fashion as required by funders to ensure WWBIC meets it annual goals and outcomes. Maintain client data records in WWBIC\'s database related to client services/hours provided. Monitor and assist in the fulfillment of related contracts. Provide outcome reports as requested. Collect necessary compliance forms for deliverables. Track counseling hours; input them regularly into WWBIC\'s platform (Neo Serra). Train clients on collection of Employment Information Forms (EIF A/B) and collect from loan portfolio clients bi-annually. Collaborate with Statewide Volunteer Manager to integrate use of volunteers in the client action plans and to work on curriculum ideas. Document use of volunteers as requested. Assist in overall mission of WWBIC by working in team environment to effectively complete other duties as assigned. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum five years\' experience required in small business planning, business development, and/or business counseling. Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent experience required. Must possess professionalism, ability to multi- task and effectively meet deadlines, as well as strong organizational & communication skills. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency. Valid driver\'s license and proof of liability and property damage insurance on vehicle used is required as position requires local travel. Occasional evening & weekend hours can be expected. The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with diverse small business owner is preferred. The ideal person is flexible, positive and has a sense of humor.
