Position Summary Under the direction of the Investigator, the Analyst Research Bioinformatics is responsible for the analysis and integration of genome-wide type datasets to support hypothesis driven research. This incumbent will develop, implement and maintain bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis and visualization of next-generation sequencing and microarray datasets. The Bioinformatics Analyst is responsible for the primary data analysis to generate useable data which can then be interpreted by the Investigator. In addition, hypothesis-driven secondary analyses will be performed by the analyst in collaboration with the investigator and/or individuals with more advanced education/training. The expectation is that the primary analysis of RNA-seq, microarray, exome sequencing, whole genome sequencing, and ChIP-seq type studies could be performed by the analyst independently. Responsibilities Develops, implements and maintains bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis and visualization of NGS data, validates and qualifies software packages for research use. Performs analysis of NGS and array type datasets. Collaborates with Information Services for the maintenance and archiving of data. Maintains databases of data and projects Works with Principal Investigator to support research projects as needed.
