BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY: Team Lead role is focused on managing the client’s MRO spend and our onsite personnel at an In-Plant Services location; In-Plant sites assigned to Team Leads will average $3M and 4 FTE, but can range from $2M and 2 FTE to $20M and 20 FTE. This role combines the competencies of distribution and professional procurement (just as integrated supply is the outsourcing of supply chain functions to a distributor). Key competencies include managing plant executive relationships, supplier management, cost savings process, personnel management, customer service, and inventory management. Goals are to retain and grow established business, provide stability and guidance to the onsite staff

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides direct supervision, mentoring, and supply chain guidance to in-plant associates located at the manager’s assigned site location.

  • Manages assigned plant executive relationships.

  • Manages key supply chain service level metrics, such as cost savings and inventory fill rates, to retain and grow established integrated supply business within the site.

  • Actively participates in the sourcing of products not available through MSC as well as the supplier relationship management of second tier supplier partners.

  • Provide weekly communications to their assigned Regional Onsite Manager and the associated Account Manager, document weekly communications with the client’s site champion, and document monthly progress and performance reviews with the client’s site champion and plant executives.

  • Provide guidance, process management, and regular client reporting around all cost savings procedures, savings attainment, and service level metrics.

  • Identify and realize opportunities for expanded spend management within their assigned site.

  • Review purchasing history for compliance with established sourcing strategies.

  • Enter Corrective Action Reports (CARs) for resolution as conditions warrant, and review any open CARs or issues with client’s site champion weekly.

  • Review onsite inventory for optimization opportunities at least twice per year.

  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.

  • Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Successful candidates will either have a Bachelor’s Degree (in a business or supply chain related field) and a minimum of seven years’ relevant experience (including integrated supply, distribution, and/or indirect materials management for a large manufacturer) OR a minimum of 12 years’ relevant experience as described.

  • Must have demonstrated ability to manage staff and clients in a high tempo manufacturing environment.

  • CPSM certification is helpful, but not required.

  • Plant-level executive relationship management, third party supplier management, indirect materials cost savings process expertise, personnel management, expertise with multiple supply chain platforms (SAP, JDE, Maximo, EAM, Cribmaster, Tofino, etc.), customer service, and inventory management.

  • Demonstrated product and application knowledge regarding industrial use MROP products, including any of various MROP categories such as perishable tooling, general industrial, electrical, power transmission (PTB), pipe valves & fittings (PVF), fluid power, electronics, automation, and/or safety.

  • General knowledge of the sourcing and market participants for all MRO categories

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • A valid driver’s license and availability to respond to off-shift emergency supply chain issues
