Reporting Structure: The HR Generalist will report to the HR Manager.
Job Summary: An Aug Prep HR Generalist is an integral member of the HR team. This person will be a team-player, and care deeply about people. The candidate will have a flexible mindset to accomplish a variety of projects and goals to support our organizational mission. The candidate will also be detail-oriented, take initiative, manage projects, and persevere through challenges. Like any nimble nonprofit team, we wear many hats and do whatever it takes to advance our mission and maintain a positive and inclusive workplace culture. We are looking for someone with experience in at least two of the following areas to support our team:
Recruitment, Onboarding and Retention:
Assist with the recruitment process, including job posting and candidate sourcing
Initiate and monitor pre-hire activities
Coordinate and facilitate the onboarding process for new employees
Support the recruitment goals of the team
Employee Records Management:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files, payroll information, and benefits records
Ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies related to record-keeping
Payroll support
Benefits Administration:
Support the management of employee benefits programs, such as health insurance, retirement plans and leave policies
Address employee inquiries related to benefits and assist in open enrollment processes
Assist with benefits education for our staff
Data Analysis:
Compile and analyze HR data to identify trends and provide insights to support decision-making
Prepare HR reports and metrics for management review
Interest in developing efficiencies for tracking data and compliance tasks in HR
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business or another related field
Minimum of 2-3 years of HR experience preferred
Additional experience in any of the following areas welcomed: payroll, recruitment, pre- hire activities, data entry, compliance
Basic knowledge of HR best practices, all state and federal employment laws and regulations
Ability to carry out tasks accurately in a timely manner, juggle priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality
Essential soft skills - communication, organization, problem solving, service-oriented attitude
Technical skills - Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Suite; Familiarity with Powerschool and UKGReady HRIS system a plus.
Strong attention to detail required
Team player with a passion for customer service
Project management skills a plus
