UnitedHealth Group Health Information Management Representatives Lead - Remote in MN or WI in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

This position is full-time (40 hours/week), Monday Friday bettween the hours of 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

4 weeks of training. Must have the ability to travel onsite for the first 2 - 4 weeks to complete training at 2925 Chicago Avenue Minneapolis, MN 55407 from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday.

If you are located in MN or WI, you will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Organizes and maintains health information records.

  • Reviews pre-electronic medical record (EMR) and electronic chart documentation ensuring correct patient, location, and no duplicate information.

  • Processes release of information (ROI) requests.

  • Manages requests for documentation and information.

  • Locates, logs, retrieves, files, and delivers medical records stored in various mediums and systems.

  • Distributes reports and results.

  • Assists in managing day-to-day operations of staff.

  • Provides oversight of staff and delegate work.

  • Trains and mentors health information processors.

  • Leads lower-level staff on complicated activities.

  • May provide input on performance reviews and corrective actions for staff.

  • Serves as escalation support for problem-solving from staff.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED

  • Must be 18 years of age OR older

  • 2+ years of experience in HIM

  • 2+ years of experience analyzing customer problems / customer service

  • Must have the ability to travel onsite for the first 2 - 4 weeks to complete training at 2925 Chicago Avenue Minneapolis, MN 55407

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets) and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)

  • Ability to work between the hours of 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM CST from Monday - Friday

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical terminology experience

  • Experience leading a team

  • Associate's OR Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare, OR related field

  • RHIA / RHIT credential

  • Experience working in a call center

  • 2 - 5 years of experience in health information management

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within MN or WI

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)

  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy

  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
