JOB REQUIREMENTS: Milwaukee School of Engineering invites applications for a full-time Grants Administrator to join our Applied Technology Center. The Grants Administrator is responsible for leadership in the MSOE community on research opportunities and responsibilities and the timely and efficient submission of proposals, including the acceptance and transfer to post award status of awarded grants. Additionally, the Administrator will coordinate with the IRB Administrator to review agreement terms and conditions [including protection of human participants in research] and negotiation of same with sponsors and grantors. The position is also responsible for outreach to sponsors, researchers and school administration, mentoring of less experienced investigators, and working in collaboration with the finance office and coworkers. The Administrator will assist in auditing appropriate use of grant expenses and for recommending changes, particularly for multi-segment grants. Essential Job Functions Assist principal investigators and research associates with determining potential funding sources, proposal submission, report writing and adherence to funding policies and procedures. Ensure accurate and timely financial reports through strong working relationship with the finance office. Serves as the primary point of contact for the principal investigators and peer reviewers, troubleshooting grant questions related to pending proposals, procedures, payments, and providing technical assistance Manage subcontracts with non-MSOE institutions, e.g., MCW, UW-Madison, UW-Milwaukee. Assist the MSOE community in proposal writing skills, funding opportunities, policy and procedures, report writing, and other essential skills needed to obtain funding from external sources. Manage MSOE\'s OneAegis database for project files for all proposals, active and completed grant programs. Improve program quality through recommendation of efficient and effective methods of program development, funding and evaluation. As requested by Dean of Applied Research/Institutional Research, provide statistical information related to MSOE research. Coordinate programming, presentations, web page development and marketing with other academic and support departments at MSOE. Provide campus-wide publicity for grant opportunities and on-campus presentations of grant research. Oversee and act as the expert for generating proposals including all grant administration policies, systems, and documentation to ensure compliance, incorporate best practices, and ensure excellent controls. Serve as the resident expert on grant compliance and interpretation of all applicable regulations, policies and procedures. Interpret applicable regulations and translate into operational policies as required. Provide on-going training to faculty and staff as it relates to grant administration and organizational policies.
