Job Summary

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is seeking an individual to serve as Executive Assistant to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. This crucial role involves managing a wide range of administrative duties to maximize the impact and time of the Provost and ensure smooth operations of the Office of the Provost. Working closely with the Provost, the Executive Assistant will ensure efficient and effective operations, contributing significantly to the overall mission of UWM . Key responsibilities include managing the Provost’s complex calendar, handling confidential documents and communications, preparing meeting agendas and materials, overseeing office functions, responding to correspondence, and monitoring expenditures.

The ideal candidate will effectively work and communicate within a team, maintaining strict confidentiality. They must be highly organized, adaptable to a fast-paced environment, capable of independent problem-solving, and able to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and the public.

This position requires full-time, on-site presence at the UW-Milwaukee campus.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five years of administrative support experience

  • Excellent written communication skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency in office software

  • Experience managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively

  • Experience with, and ability to, handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

  • Experience managing complex calendars

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field

  • Experience working in higher education administration

  • Experience in executive-level support

  • Demonstrated success in establishing and managing office operations, and managing multiple priorities

    Target Salary Range $60,000 - $67,000/annually (Salary will be determined by finalist's experience, training, education, and equity-based factors.)
