The Electronic Technician\'s general scope of responsibility is to maintain and repair building automation systems, automated building entry systems, clock systems, alarm systems, parking systems and other miscellaneous electronic related equipment and systems. Duties and Responsibilities Build, modify, monitor and maintain hardware and databases for automated buildings controls systems and automated building entry systems. Monitor and schedule operation of environmental and other equipment associated with building automation systems. Monitor system alerts and alarms. Troubleshoot and identify problems for corrective actions. Maintain and repair hardware in accordance with established preventive maintenance schedules and calibration standards, keeping accurate records of the same. Install and/or modify low voltage wiring and pneumatic controls interfaces in cooperation with Marquette technicians and outside contractors. Act as system administrator for Johnson Controls Metasys building automation systems and other access control and life/safety digital systems. Maintain and repair campus clock and bell system including clock cable system and associated equipment. Maintain, repair and set time recorders. Test, maintain and repair fire and security systems including wiring and associated equipment. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of alarm activity as required by state law. Independently maintain and repair electronic controls associated with HVAC systems, also work with outside contractors as required. Provide MU systems interface with contractors who install new electronic systems that connect to or complement existing systems. Troubleshoot and repair Campus Parking systems including gates, gate arms and T2 Controllers Work with contractors who need Fire Alarm points disabled and re-enabled to accommodate their work. Keep and maintain test equipment and supplies appropriate to craft. Keep shop and equipment areas clean and orderly.
