Brady Corporation Document Control Specialist in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

What We Need:

As a Documentation Control Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing, documenting, maintaining, and communicating Engineering Specifications. Your role will encompass a variety of documentation activities supporting Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Operations. Using our SAP ERP system, ETQ, Google Docs, email, and the Engineering shared drive, you will ensure the accuracy and accessibility of key documentation. In this role, you’ll prioritize the needs of internal customers and exemplify Brady’s Focal Points and Values in all interactions.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Reviewing, modifying, and maintaining Functional Specification documents using input and technical knowledge from Engineering/Quality teams, within SAP, ETQ, Google Docs, and shared drives.

  • Collaborating with the Quality team to create and maintain inspection plans, ensuring data accuracy and consistency, and identifying gaps in documentation.

  • Providing advisory services to key stakeholders (R&D/Engineering/Operations/QA) to enhance understanding of data management issues and advising on suitable strategies and techniques.

  • Running, analyzing, and communicating reports related to expired materials with Engineering, and coordinating follow-up activities.

  • Collaborating with various departments (Sourcing, Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Receiving, and Master Schedulers) to clarify documents, identify needs, and refine documentation specifications.

  • Providing exceptional service to internal and external customers by understanding their needs and delivering high-quality results.

  • Working with team members to improve processes and tools that enhance productivity and quality.

  • Managing multiple project needs and balancing priorities to meet deadlines and production requirements.

  • Supporting other functions within the Supply Chain department as needed.

  • Performing other duties as assigned.

    What You Will Need To Be Successful:

  • Associate’s Degree.

  • Minimum 2 year of experience in a Manufacturing/Quality Control/Master data/ Engineering instructions & Documentation role

  • Proficiency in reading and writing technical documents, procedure manuals, instructions.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • Strong logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail

  • Proficient with MS Office or similar type of operating system

  • Ability to effectively negotiate

  • Ability to manage time efficiently and communicate effectively across diverse teams

  • Willingness to work overtime when needed

  • Knowledge of SAP
