Microsoft Corporation Document Control Manager in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

The construction site Document Control Manager is responsible for managing, processing, maintaining, retrieving, storing, and disseminating all records related to the management activities of all documents related to the construction of the Data Center. The document controller will also ensure documents and records meet criteria (format, identification, and approvals) specified by Microsoft Specification and related requirements.

In addition, the Document Control Manager will be responsible for coordinating with contractors/vendors to correct any documents and records not meeting requirements relative to document deliverables. The document controller will prepare weekly reports and/or presentations documenting status of all deliverables required for successful turnover of the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the project management team on all aspects of project schedule, document management and project delivery

  • Develop and maintain the Document Management System by Microsoft specifications.

  • Ensure proper document classification, sorting, filing, and proper archiving.

  • Perform document quality check in accordance with document control procedures.

  • Perform file backups to ensure proper storage and archiving of electronic registers.

  • Ensure all documentation is accessible and able to be audited within a centralized document archive.

  • Collect and register all technical documents such as drawings and blueprints in the system

  • Keep other personnel updated on new document versions and maintain authorized access

  • Handle records across various departments and maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive documents

  • Take meeting minutes and log appropriately Assist in maintaining effective relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, manufacturers, and engineers.

  • Coordinate meetings and activities of vendors, manufacturers and general contractors, concerning needed information.

  • Assist in maintaining effective relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, manufacturers, and engineers.

  • Maintain daily logs Track submittals, Request For Informations, change orders.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years related experience

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of document control experience on construction projects

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of document control experience on construction projects

  • Ability to build teams, work effectively across teams, effectively manage schedules, equipment coordination, and delivery of facility turnover requirements.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and document management systems, Share Point, Teams, Excel

  • Ability to multitask and independently manage deadlines and support staff.

  • Document management experience.

  • Organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks.

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Interpersonal and team working skills.

  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to obstacles.

Construction Project Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $91,800 - $178,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $117,900 - $195,000 per year.
