What we need: Brady Corporation has a thrilling opportunity for a sales professional with a hunting and leading mentality to join us as a Director of Sales, Industrial for our industrial business. This individual will be responsible for leading our sales team in the US & Canada and will report to the President of Americas & Asia. We expect the position to utilize outstanding interpersonal, communication, time management, data analysis, organizational skills and business acumen to manage bottom line profitability and sales of a high growth business, which currently has a topline revenue of $525+M. Will oversee a sales organization of approximately 130 individuals within the sales function. This leadership role will drive process improvements and operational efficiencies to create value to the organization, external stakeholders and customers. It is expected that this candidate will possess leadership skills and high engagement motivation to build consensus and to transform the existing organization to meet ambitious growth objectives for the region. Key future direction for the region is to drive advanced go-to-market strategies and action plans to bring the business to new profitability levels, while focusing on key and emerging customers. This will be supported by improving sales and marketing functions, market penetration and expansion . This position will be based at our Milwaukee, WI facility. What you’ll be doing: Lead proactively, identifying and evaluating new customers and markets and possible acquisition targets to expand the business. Provide sales leadership in the development of new products and services to expand the company's overall market offering and grow profitability. Develop and leverage relationships and network with stakeholders (customers, trade associations, etc.) to enhance the company's standing as best-in-class. Develop and execute the profitable sales growth strategy for the business, which is supported by comprehensive sales plans consistent with corporate profit objectives and goals and by commercial performance. Drive a commercial and customer-focused culture, providing the guidance to leverage the value chain with customers and increase sales results. Anticipate market conditions, changes and trends and develop an appropriate sustainable product portfolio to match customers’ needs. Maintain regular adequate intelligence related to current and emerging competitors, markets, innovation and customers. Lead an effective sales team, ensuring proper organizational growth through succession planning and talent development. Drive long term development of the business with potential external Merger and Acquisition activities and strategic partnerships, including with key accounts. What you’ll need to be successful: Bachelor’s degree in business or technical degree is required. MBA or other advanced degree is preferred Minimum 15 years of successful business experience working for manufacturers or industrial products or distributors of broad-line industrial products. Previous experience should include quantifiable commercial successes and general management responsibility for multi-region business with revenue in excess of $200 million and oversight of a broad sales team. Must demonstrate an understanding of financial levers that drive EBITDA and value creation and a successful track record is critical (i.e., improvements in profit, revenue, cash flow, return on assets and market share). Proven track record of building competitive advantages through the development of high performing sales teams and new differentiated go-to-market strategies, while leveraging company core competencies. Must possess a high energy level with a passion for leading change and growth. Strong leadership skills are required, with the ability to communicate and advocate a clear vision of the future and motivate and drive organizations to new levels of performance. Must be tough-minded and decisive, while demonstrating humility and excellent interpersonal skills to lead a team and foster collaboration amongst his/her colleagues and employees.
