Program Information
The School of Biomedical Sciences and Health Care Administration offers programs in Biomedical Sciences and Health Care Administration. The Health Care Administration programs help develop basic business principles and tools that students need for effective decision-making in a health care setting.
Job Summary
The Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor position is a teaching academic staff position with primary appointment in the Health Care Administration ( HCA ) programs. Responsibilities include teaching and service in support of the mission, goals, and outcomes of the health care administration programs ( HCA and MHA ).
Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor must possess knowledge obtained by formal education, work experience, and/or on-the-job experience. Effective teaching, communication, and computer skills are expected.
The successful candidate must be able to do the following:
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Work with instructional technology and software.
Implement pedagogical strategies targeted toward student success.
Interact in a cooperative and productive manner with others.
Adapt and be flexible to handle changes in technologies, methodologies, and course curriculum.
Be able to work effectively with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
This is a full-time position and is posted with the option to fill either a 9-month or 12-month position, depending on the best fit for candidate and program needs. Hybrid work options are available with specifics regarding work location requirements discussed during the interview process.
Minimum Qualifications
MHA or Master of Science degree in health care administration or masters degree in related business field, such as an MBA .
3-5 years of relevant experience in the health care administration profession or health management.
Preferred Qualifications
Health PhD, DHA , EdD, terminal degree or professional degree in the field such as JD, MD or equivalent in healthcare administration or related area with professional experience that is substantial both in duration and level of responsibility.
Specialist certification or association with the American College of Healthcare Executives such as ACHE Fellow ( FACHE ).
Experience in teaching health care administration, health management, or related, courses
Research experience.
Experience supervising graduate students or clinical interns, health administration and business processes.
Target Salary Range Final salary offers contingent upon skills, knowledge, and abilities as demonstrated throughout the selection process, as well as appointment type (9- month or 12-month appointment) and title (Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor).
