OUTREACH COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS Associate Medical Director Physician in MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE: The Associate Medical Director is responsible for overall primary medical services for the health center relative to medical providers. The Associate Medical Director reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer. Complies with all agency policies and procedures concerning corporate compliance including privacy of protected health information. This position is 40% administrative, 60% clinical and requires board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Med-Peds. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes the following: Clinical Oversight Provide oversight of the medical staff including physicians, advanced practice nurses, physician associates, contracted specialty providers and other allied health professionals and monitors the clinical team according to the clinical standards, ethical principles and policies of the health center. Typically oversees 8-12 direct reports Serve as a collaborating physician to non-physician care providers as applicable by law Provide consultations to nurse practitioners and other providers of the clinic as it pertains to managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients as appropriate. Ensure delivery of patient-centered, high quality care Develop, implement and monitor clinical protocols, guidelines and standing orders Quality Assurance and Improvement In partnership with Director of Quality, lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction Monitor clinical performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards and internal policies. Conduct regular reviews and audits of clinical services Work collaboratively with the Director of Clinical Operations to address clinical quality, safety, efficiency of work flows and productivity. Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Assist with clinically related incident reports Medical Staff Management Participate, along with Human Resources and Chief Medical Officer, in the recruitment, hiring and privileging of staff. Provide mentorship, coaching and professional development opportunities for medical staff. Provide consultations to nurse practitioners and other providers of the clinic as it pertains to managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients as appropriate.
