JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: The Medical College of Wisconsin\'s Department of Surgery, Division of Minimally Invasive Surgery is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide specialty medical care within defined scope of practice under the supervision of a licensed physician and in accordance with MCW/FMLH/CHW policies and procedures located in Milwaukee, WI at Froedtert Hospital. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching. The Ideal Candidate will have 3+ years of Surgical Nursing, Critical Care Nursing, Bariatric Surgery or Obesity Medicine experience wanting to be part of a thriving and very collaborative academic practice at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). Areas of responsibility will include, but not be limited to providing direct patient care to an adult population in an outpatient setting. In this role you will: Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care teams in diagnosis and treatment of adult bariatric (primary role) and general surgery patients in the outpatient setting. Collaborates with other consultative care teams and primary team in the management of bariatric (primary role) and general surgery patients. Participants in outpatient preoperative and postoperative patient care. Educates patients and families on preoperative and postoperative patient care. Develops expertise in cross continuum care management and treatment interventions specific to this patient population. Provides clinical care coordination, including pathways, protocols, patient, and provider education of the bariatric surgery program under supervision of the medical director.
