Accounting/Finance Analyst

WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Accounting/Finance Analyst in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location.

This position is part of a job family (Associate Analyst, Analyst, Senior Analyst) and expereince will be the determining factor.

Job Summary & Responsibilities

• Participate in the annual development of the Capital and O&M Budgets, evaluate monthly and YTD variances between budgeted and actual expenditures, develop short and long term forecasts, and provide financial analysis and expertise to both Finance and Operational leaders regarding financial implications of operating decisions.

• Provide support to capital project managers and assist with project justification, present capital projects to leadership, perform project economic analysis, and utilize problem solving skills to ensure capturing all requirements for capital project approvals.

• Prepare, document, and present analysis along with recommendations to management, ensure appropriate financial controls and reporting requirements are met, and apply knowledge of interrelationships in processes.

• Support internal and external data requests, create and understand master data objects, and complete financial close tasks timely and accurately.

• Handle multiple responsibilities, prioritize effectively, and work independently. Incumbents will conduct increasingly complex assignments depending on level.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related business degree.

• Ability to learn and grasp new concepts quickly.

• Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal, problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Attention to detail, strong initiative and results-orientation are critical.

• This position requires working additional hours during certain times of the month.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 plus years' experience in Accounting or Finance.

• Graduate Degree in a business discipline or CPA.

• SAP experience.

• Experience with Microsoft Office.
