What You Will Contribute: Are you eager for the opportunity to learn accounting at a global mid-size company? Do you want to pursue industry for accounting after graduation? Badger Meter is looking for an accounting intern to work onsite this summer at our Milwaukee facility. The ideal student will want to go into industry right after graduation. The Badger Meter Internship Program provides hands-on, real-world experience to students through projects that make a difference! In addition to your projects, you will be given the opportunity to participate in our robust Intern program focused on Badger Meter Culture, professional development, community outreach and a final capstone project. The General Accounting is responsible for supporting the Accounting department, providing assistance, and performing varying tasks for all projects within the functional area. This position is supervised directly by the General Accounting Manager who will provide direct guidance to learn the accounting process through hands on training in various job tasks and projects. The General Accounting Intern will assist with collecting, documenting and assessing data obtained through reports, queries or programs used by the department. Essential Job Duties: * Learn ERP system as it relates to accounting, prepare and post journal entries i.e. actual, budget and forecast. Update various general ledger account analysis * Compile, balance and distribute the monthly financial statements. Prepare statements for records retention storage and online file storage on the network * Work with the accountant to audit fixed assets.
