TEKsystems Lead Cable Technician in MILFORD, Ohio

Company Overview:

Our client is providing structured cabling services to small and medium-sized businesses throughout the southern Ohio-Indiana footprint and looking for a Lead Technician. They specialize in the design, installation, and maintenance of coax and ethernet networks. Due to recent demand, we are expanding our team to fulfill a backlog of projects.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cable Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting various types of cable and data communication systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair CAT5, CAT6, and Ethernet cables.

  • Test the functionality of each cable installation, including coaxial cable testing.

  • Terminate and test cable and fiber, ensuring the highest levels of performance and reliability.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior technicians.

  • Ensure all installations meet quality and safety standards.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cable and network connectivity.

  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Travel as necessary to client locations throughout the southern Ohio-Indiana footprint.

Top Skills Needed:

  • 4+ years’ experience with cable installation: Proven track record in cable installation, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with all safety regulations.

  • CAT6: Proficient in installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining CAT6 cables.

  • Ethernet Experience: Extensive experience with Ethernet technology, including understanding of its design and implementation.

  • CAT5: Skilled in the installation and maintenance of CAT5 cables.

  • Coaxial Cable Testing Experience: Ability to test and troubleshoot issues with coaxial cables.

Cable/Fiber Termination Experience: Proficient in terminating and testing cable and fiber.
