Job Title: Sr. Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer to perform and oversee engineering designs of all types of electrical infrastructure and facilities for Federal government clients. As a Sr. Electrical Engineer, you will develop construction documents using AutoCAD. Designs may include facility design, working closely with other disciplines, or may be stand-alone electrical projects. In this role, you will help manage junior staff, including engineers and drafters. Projects may include travel, field measurements/data gathering, calculations, and CAD/BIM designing. Experience working with Federal, state, and local governments is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Produce plans, reports, and specifications.

  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates.

  • Assist in the preparation of inspection reports.

  • Perform quality control and quality assurance.

  • Perform calculations for the design of lighting and electrical systems.

  • Work closely with junior engineering and drafting staff.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a similar field from an ABET-accredited college or university.

  • 7+ years of experience in electrical engineering.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer or having passed the FE exam with the ability to become licensed within a year of hire.

  • AutoCAD design experience.

  • 5+ years of construction design experience.

  • Experience in commercial building electrical design, electrical engineering, electrical design, AutoCAD electrical.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Capability of working on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Work Environment

This role offers a hybrid schedule, allowing for remote work up to 2 days per week and requiring in-office presence at least 3 days per week. Some travel to various locations may be needed. The team consists of 3 electrical engineers, 2 mechanical engineers, 2 architects, a CAD technician, and additional support staff.
