POSITION SUMMARY

Leads, directs, and controls the day-to-day activities of multiple plants in the Southern United States to achieve short and long term financial and operating objectives set by organizational business plan. Directs and coordinates activities concerned with production of company product(s) by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assists Site Managers with business decisions and assists plants in the development of new processes and with new business opportunities.

  • Monitors revenues and costs at assigned plants.

  • Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.

  • Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.

  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.

  • Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.

  • Develop direct reports, particularly in the management techniques of planning, organizing, leading and controlling through continue coaching and feedback on performance.

  • Promotes Regulatory Compliance, Safety and Security initiatives across the entire team. Ensures stringent adherence to Regulatory Compliance, Safety and Security protocols and takes steps to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in these areas.

  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.

  • Develop and execute strategies for product sales growth, new business development, renewals, and customer retention.

  • Develop, manage, and grow relationships with internal and external customers. Responsible for the utilization and continued development of existing customer base, strengthening long term relationships and development of opportunities for optimum margin sales through partnering and negotiated services.

  • Interface with other operating units to optimize customer satisfaction, repeat business and customer loyalty.

  • Develop and lead proposals for services in response to invitations to bid and provide guidance to proposal team from inception to completion. Develop the pricing structure as well as other contract terms and conditions.

  1. Basic Qualifications:
  • Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from college or university or relevant years of work experience

  • Experience

  • 5 + years progressive experience managing operations in a manufacturing or industrial company, with responsibility for budgets, production, maintenance, and safety

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume

  • Ability to lift up to ten pounds 30% of on-the-job time

  • Vision requirements: Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

  • Work conditions may include the following: working near moving mechanical parts, in outdoor weather conditions, and in extreme non-weather heat

  • Moderate to Loud noise

  • Willingness and ability to travel a minimum of 50% of the time
