Job Title: Family Office Tax Accountant

Job Summary:

The Family Office Tax Accountant is responsible for managing the tax processes on behalf of the family office, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations. This role involves preparing and filing tax returns, conducting tax planning and advising on various tax-related issues to optimize their financial strategies. The role also includes supporting the family office’s investment strategy, financial planning and operational tasks that includes market research, analyzing investment opportunities, preparing reports and assisting with various financial projects to ensure the growth and preservation of the family office.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead the preparation and filing of federal and state income tax returns for individuals, trusts, estates, entities and foundations.

· Assist in tax planning strategies aimed at minimizing tax liabilities and maximizing wealth preservation.

· Assist with the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports related to tax implications.

· Collaborate with external advisors, such as investment managers, legal counsel, estate planners and accountants to develop tax-efficient investment and estate strategies.

· Conduct thorough market and investment research to identify opportunities that align with the family office's goals and investment strategy.

· Analyze financial statements and performance data of potential investments, including public/private companies, real estate and alternative assets.

· Assist in the development and maintenance of financial models and valuation processes for investment evaluation.

· Prepare investment presentations and reports for family members or decision-makers, highlighting key findings and recommendations.

· Monitor existing investment portfolios and provide performance analyses, including cash flow projections and risk assessments.

· Support the budgeting and forecasting process by gathering and analyzing financial data.

· Assist in family governance initiatives, including the development of strategic financial plans and education sessions for family members.

· Perform ad-hoc analysis and project work as needed to support family office initiatives.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.

· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in tax accounting

· Strong knowledge of federal, state and local tax regulations.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.

· Familiarity with tax software and accounting software

· Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools
