Keystone Engineering is currently seeking a Project Electrical Engineer for work in the West Texas/New Mexico Area.

Position Type: Full-time

Location: Midland, Texas

Work Environment/Physical Demands: Office/Sedentary, Plant

Travel Requirements: Regularly

Essential Functions:

  • Work Full-Time within a client's Global Projects Team supporting power transmission and distribution projects in the Permian and Delaware Basin areas (West Texas & New Mexico).

  • Position will require a minimum of two weeks each month based in Midland, Texas to facilitate ongoing electrical projects for a major unconventional energy company.

  • Prefer full-time residency in the Midland area, but can consider a hybrid work location for the right skill sets.

  • Support project development and execution of electrical transmission and distribution projects up to 115kV including substation facilities, overhead power installations, utility drops, switchgear, transformers, and other equipment used in medium - high voltage systems.

  • Ensure proper design codes and standards are followed and coordinate with large project EPC partners & vendors for project deliverables and long lead items.

  • Will require extensive communication with global engineering colleagues, utilities, and State agencies for project details.

  • Represent project status to multiple levels of corporate and operational staff.

  • Project steward through design execution and construction.

  • Provide responsible cost management and ensure vendor invoice approval processing is handled timely.

  • Provide ongoing project management to ensure scope, budget, and schedules are met.

  • Manage internal and external resources for engineering and design for project specific development deliverables to meet appropriate level of detail at staged gates.

  • Lead project development review meetings providing clarity to assurance requirements and development goals.

  • Validate the project scope and execution plan of projects prior to approval for funding (AFE) and identify value engineering opportunities and portfolio risks.

  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations to communicate developed project scope, deliverables, critical milestones, and funding plan.

  • Be resourceful and have high performance standards across all work to ensure project success.

  • Act in the best interest of the client performing work with regard for ethics and integrity in business matters.

  • Provide accountability and regular communications with project team and stakeholders.

  • Support project reporting metrics and manage deviations.

  • Promote safety in all aspects of involvement.

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering (Preferred) from an ABET-accredited program.

  • 10 years plus of combined experience supporting power distribution engineering projects for industrial plant facilities or electric utility infrastructure.

  • Background with project management from EPC Firm and ability to act on behalf of the owner.

  • Familiarity with project management principles and performance metrics.

  • Prefer residency in the Midland, Texas area.

  • Current TWIC Card needed.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-motivated, organized, and solution advocate.

  • Attention to detail.
