Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform skilled tasks including all levels of startup, shutdown, operating, and performing minor repairs to rental fleet compressors as directed by supervisory personnel

• Understand gas gathering, distribution, compression, and treating concepts.

• Able to identify and understand gas compositions, flow system challenges, and characteristics of treated and untreated gas

• Troubleshoot and diagnose compressor system failures and communicate those failures with the Customer, Operations, and Maintenance teams

• Optimize compression equipment performance

• Stay abreast of compressor and engine theory and maintenance

• Comply with all company and customer safety and environmental policies and procedures

• Comply with all other company policies and procedures

• Complete appropriate paperwork as directed

• Perform duties as trainer when required

• Continually hone and develop electronic and computer skills

• Demonstrate and further develop leadership skills

• Present a professional image

Education, Experience, and Training:

• Must be highly proficient in compressor and engine operations

• Possess complete understanding of surface production equipment

• Must have troubleshooting skills that seldom require assistance

• Should be able diagnose general electronic control problems

• Must be willing to travel and willing to relocate, if necessary

• Must have a thorough understanding of CSI inventory policy and be able to help control inventory

• Must have mechanical aptitude

• Must be able to pass all non-DOT drug-related testing

• Must be able to meet company lifting standards

• Must have full set of hand tools as defined by company standards

• Must have good written and verbal communication skills

• Must have good customer-relation skills

• Must be able to work nights and days for 12 hour shifts on a rotating shift schedule.

• Subject to relief operating to fulfill schedule demands when needed.

• Subject to participation of safety meetings outside of typical 12 hour operating shift

• Should have thorough understanding of reference materials

• Must be willing to attend training classes and/or seminars as required

• 1+ years of oil field operations or related industry experience required

• 1+ years of compressor operations or related industry experience preferred

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

• High school diploma or GED required

• Formal vocational training is preferred

• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language is required.

Physical Demands

• Requires operation of heavy equipment

• Requires employee to stand for up to 75% of the time

• Requires employee to sit for up to 25% of the time

• Requires employee to climb ladders or stairs to inspecting, repairing, and painting equipment and must be able to maintain balance on stairs and/or ladders without assistance

• Must be able to communicate and respond to coworkers, customers, and emergency cues/alarms, in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices

• Must be able to frequently lift at least 10 pounds, infrequent lifting of > 50 lbs.

• High noise environment (>85dbA) will occur with ear protection

• Potential, controlled, exposure to hazardous chemicals

• Requires work in outdoor conditions, including extreme heat and extreme cold.

• Requires moving and maintaining self in different positions—stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces

• Must wear all required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, hard hats, face shields, hearing protection, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots

• Requires an employee to frequently type and use computer and other office equipment such as a copier, printer, calendar, telephone, etc.
