Job Description

IFF has exciting and challenging opportunity for a Site Maintenance Instrument & Electrical Craft located in Midland, Michigan. This is a growing cGMP facility that produces industry-leading cellulosic products for the pharmaceutical excipient and food markets.

You will spend your time...

• Provides experience on failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations.

• Provides technical expertise to plant personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs, and evaluating whether equipment is designed to meet its intended or existing service conditions.

• During repairs ensure that repair details such as clearances, tolerances, materials of construction, correct technology, etc are provided and documented. Provide technical support as needed.

• Ensures repair techniques, repair procedures, and equipment specific training are documented and made available.

• Provide technical support for specification, identification and purchasing of needed parts.

• Serves as a technical resource to the planner on work packages.

• During development of turnaround work, provides input on scope of work.

• Works with other crafts and coordinators to complete maintenance repair on time.

Education/Certification Requirements

• Sate of Michigan Electrical licenses

• Instrumentation training (will provide Instrumentation training to the right candidate)

Other Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs, use ladders, use general housekeeping tools such as shovels, brooms, etc. Methocel is a multi-level plant with several staircases. Occasionally employees do work at heights. Must be able to operate a fork truck.

  While we are interested in all qualified candidates with the potential to work in the United States, we are not able to sponsor visas. Additionally, to qualify for this position, you must be proficient in English, including reading, writing, and verbal communication.

The Pharma Solutions business will be taking on its next chapter of growth as a trusted partner for the pharmaceutical industry with the announcement to sell Pharma Solutions to Roquette. This move will position Pharma Solutions to expand its industry leadership through continued investment in innovation to meet the evolving needs of pharmaceutical manufacturers and developers worldwide. The sale is presently expected to close in the first half of 2025, pending regulatory approvals and other closing conditions. The Pharma Solutions business unit will remain a part of IFF until close and, at such time, it will transition to Roquette.
