Nutrition & Biosciences has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental, Health and Safety Technician in Midland, MI aligned to the Nutrition & Biosciences assets. In this direct support position, the EH&S Technician is responsible for the maintenance of EH&S management systems, work processes, standards, and procedures to meet business and site objectives. The EH&S Technician will work closely with facility personnel and members of the site EH&S Team to ensure excellent EH&S performance and full compliance with requirements.

You Will Spend Your Time...

  • Participate in facility EH&S performance improvement efforts.

  • Facilitate root cause investigations.

  • Conduct internal plant audits and assessments (e.g. safety, housekeeping, and compliance).

  • Creation and presentation of high-quality monthly safety meetings.

  • Conduct/perform Industrial Hygiene related tasks.

  • Update, maintain, and rollout of new EH&S Safety Standards, tools and work processes.

  • Help to establish, track and drive improvement in key EH&S performance metrics (training, corrective actions, housekeeping, compliance task completion etc.).

  • Prepare EH&S reports for company and regulatory agencies as necessary.

  • Completion of corrective actions from audits, assessments, and incident investigations.

  • Maintain EH&S operating discipline.

Job Requirements

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualification:

  • A minimum of an Associate’s degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Science, or related discipline AND a minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience working in Environmental Health and Safety or a manufacturing facility

  • Also accepted: A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED AND a minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience working in Environmental Health and Safety or a manufacturing facility required.

The Pharma Solutions business will be taking on its next chapter of growth as a trusted partner for the pharmaceutical industry with the announcement to sell Pharma Solutions to Roquette. This move will position Pharma Solutions to expand its industry leadership through continued investment in innovation to meet the evolving needs of pharmaceutical manufacturers and developers worldwide. The sale is presently expected to close in the first half of 2025, pending regulatory approvals and other closing conditions. The Pharma Solutions business unit will remain a part of IFF until close and, at such time, it will transition to Roquette.
