Job Overview

The Planner Buyer will be responsible for managing and optimizing the procurement and planning processes for a diverse range of products and services. This role requires specialized knowledge in First Time Runs (FTR), Engineering to Order (ETO) models, and New Model Introduction (NMI) Supply Chain support to ensure efficient and timely delivery of materials and components. The Planner Buyer will work closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to support product launches and maintain supply chain continuity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement and Planning - Develop and execute procurement strategies to meet production and project requirements.

  • First Time Runs (FTR) - Coordinate with engineering and production teams to plan and execute First Time Runs for new products or processes.

  • Engineering to Order (ETO) Models - Collaborate with engineering teams to understand specific requirements for ETO projects.

  • New Model Introduction (NMI) Supply Chain Support - Support the introduction of new models by coordinating with cross-functional teams including R&D, engineering, and production.

  • Supplier Management - Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and capacity.

  • Data Analysis and Reporting - Analyze procurement data and generate reports to track performance metrics, inventory levels, and supplier performance.

  • Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities for process enhancements and cost savings within the procurement and planning functions.

What your background should look like:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., APICS, CPM) is a plus.

  • 5 years of experience in procurement, planning, or supply chain management, with specific experience in First Time Runs, Engineering to Order models, and New Model Introduction processes

  • Strong knowledge of supply chain and procurement processes, including FTR, ETO, and NMI.

  • Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software (SAP SME).

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong negotiation and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

  • Abilities to drive Projects End to End, with track record of achieving results and abilities to drive effective change management

COMPENSATION

• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $68,800 – $103,200 (subject to change dependent on physical location)

• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
