AT&T Sr Specialist Member of Technical Staff - Hardware Network Engineer in Middletown, New Jersey

Job Description:

Our Business Technology Services team is delivering innovative and reliable network technology solutions to shape AT&T’s next generation network to provide connectivity for AT&T’s mobility, wireline, and consumer services.

OVERVIEW:

Hardware Network Engineer will develop highly available, reliable, and functional switching and routing platform for AT&T Edge and Core and Mobility networks; Design IP Optical network systems with fabric, line-card, and interconnecting optics; Partner with hardware design manufacturers, silicon providers, product qualification teams, and operations to troubleshoot software and hardware issues. Design systems with reliability, ease of troubleshooting, follow NEBS compliance rules. Perform network engineer duties including, turnup, configuration of IP routing, performance monitoring, and operating carrier class routers/switches.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline e.g. Computer Science, or Engineering.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with Ethernet, IP and Optical switching systems.

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP protocol and IP routing basics

  • Hands-on experience with technical support teams to revolve all network issues.

  • Ability to understand the design, to perform test, and to troubleshoot complex network deployment scenarios.

  • The selected candidate should have strong analytical skills, and the ability to perform advanced problem determination, resolution, and analysis.

Our Sr. Specialist Member of Technical Staff earn between $122,000 – $183,000 USD, annually. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
