Wesleyan University’s Center for Jewish Studies invites applications for the Silverberg Assistant Professor of the Practice in Jewish Studies beginning January 1, 2025. The Center is looking for a scholar of popular Israeli and Jewish-American culture, with a particular focus on film and television. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Jewish Studies, Film Studies, Media Studies, or related field in hand by the time of application. Preference will be given to candidates with oral and written fluency in Hebrew and formal training in Film Studies. The teaching load is 3/2, in person on Wesleyan’s campus. Additional duties include advising and mentoring students and participating in faculty governance at the departmental and university level.
