SUMMARY OF THE JOB:

Reporting to the Manager of the Commercial Credit Department, the incumbent will cross train and shadow members of the Commercial Credit Underwriting team to gain exposure to the Department’s credit underwriting workflow process specifically as relates to financial statement review and analysis, spreading in the Bank spreading platform, workflow steps in the Bank’s Commercial Loan Operating System, developing cash flows and other analysis in the Department’s appendices, CRE schedules, Argus, CoStar and other applications utilized in the underwriting process.

The incumbent will review the Bank’s policies and procedures, departmental policies and procedures to gain an understanding of the standards and regulations governing the lending process. The intern will gain exposure to loan structure, collateralization, risk rating and overall creditworthiness used to make lending decisions. Additionally, may perform portfolio management tasks as required for ACH renewals and new requests, annual reviews , borrowing base monitoring, and construction loan monitoring.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Under the direction of the Underwriting Team Leaders, the incumbent will cross train and perform spreading via Sageworks/Abrigo, financial statement analysis, as well reviews of related materials including accounts receivable and payable agings, information from credit bureaus, reporting services and other companies. On occasion, the incumbent may seek out the guidance of the Credit Manager and/or Senior Credit Underwriters.

Researches and utilizes industry specific information from IBISWorld and CoStar industry platforms. May assist in some administrative functions of the department during peak demand time or as requested by the Credit Manager .

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Language, reasoning and analytical skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • General Office Equipment

  • Keyboard Dexterity

  • Lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs.

  • Use of general office equipment

  • Ability to travel
