Job Title: Plumber

Job Summary:

EMCOR Facilities Services is seeking a skilled and hard-working journeyman plumber to add to our growing team in Middle River, MD. In this position, it will be your job to assist our commercial client with all of their plumbing and drainage issues.

Your tasks will involve locating leaks and patching them, as well as repairing blockages and corrosions that are impacting the quality of the client’s system. You will also be asked to repair and install new fixtures, pipe fittings, and pipes, among other things.

As the journeyman plumber, you will work directly with our client. You shall be able to demonstrate professionalism while working and willing to answer any questions that they may have for you. You will also be asked to observe all pertinent health and safety requirements while you work.

Immediate Responsibilities:

  • Assess the state of the client’s plumbing system and determine the source of its problems

  • Use your specialized knowledge and training to repair and maintain plumbing and drainage systems including sanitary waste systems

  • Answer any questions that the client may have about their systems

  • Install new pipes, valves, gutters, and fixtures. Exercise and repairs of PIV valves and manage backflow preventers throughout campus.

Management and maintenance of snow & ice management, outdoor signage, outdoor painting, parking lot maintenance, and other assigned duties as may be needed from time to time.

Additional Duties: Support and operational updates to the customer along with managing projects for the customer and providing status of those projects. The responsibilities are to ensure maximum operational success while working with other maintenance personnel to ensure duties are completed safely, effectively and properly documented within OSHA and internal standards. Develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of facility, personnel and processes. Manage / respond to breakdowns, emergency calls and oversee time-critical repairs 24/7. Plan and oversee routine maintenance and improvement projects for facility and equipment. Promote preventative and predictive maintenance program effectively utilizing the CMMS. This position assumes overall responsibility for grounds management and operations of the campus and for multiple clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs maintenance of plumbing piping systems. Ability to correct and maintain useability of system at all times. Be able to respond to emergencies within the facility and assist with snow removal duties as required

  • Investigates , develop and implement projects, processes or activities to reduce or contain costs, increase quality levels and meet standards. Utilize technical competency, relevant work experience and comprehensive / diverse facilities engineering knowledge to generate creative solutions.

  • Fosters a positive work environment with associates and customer. For associates, train, mentor, manage the review process and engage in associate development. For customer, develop and maintain a positive relationship that supports open dialogue.

  • Communicates effectively with Client & Site Manager to determine service needs. Coordinates and works closely with client sub-contractors who are forming service on site.

  • Promote commitment to environmental health and safety by adhering to safety practices, investigating concerns and making recommendations.

  • Organizes work load to manage normal day-to-day activities, based on season and predicted weather. Prioritize emergency assignments and special projects (both Company and Customer) to ensure all Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and performance objectives are completed to satisfaction. Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly performance reports.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent

  • 3-6 years of progressive experience in plumbing operations at a large facility or for a supplier providing services to larger facilities and clients

  • Journeyman’s license a plus.
